Blue Jays Fall 3-1 On The Road To Gorloks

St. Louis, Mo 9/30/2023- The Westminster College men's soccer team traveled to St. Louis, Missouri to take on the Webster University Gorloks. The Gorloks would score three first-half goals and win the game 3-1 after the Blue Jays scored a goal to open the second half. The Blue Jays fell to 1-8 on the season and 0-2 in the SLIAC. Webster improved to 3-5-1 and is now 1-0 in the SLIAC.  

Webster would score in the 19th, 25th, and 33rd minute to jump out to a 3-0 first-half lead. The Blue Jays would battle though, taking thirteen shots in the game with seven of them being on goal. Adam Luetkemeyer made a cross in the box that led to Travis Bieg's third goal of the season for Westminster.  

Toby Hughes got the start in goal for the Blue Jays, and he would make four saves on the seven shots he faced. Bieg and Luetkemeyer would combine for five shots on goal, as they led the Blue Jays' offensive attack.  

The Blue Jays will be back in action on Friday, October 6th when they host Mississippi University for Women in the SLIAC home-opener. Kick-off is at 5:00 pm.
