Men's Track & Field Opens Indoor Season at Snow Bird Open

The Westminster men's track and field team opened the 2016 indoor season at the Snow Bird Open on Saturday. The Westminster Blue Jays placed 11th with a total of nine points. 

Senior Jesse Edwards placed third in the 3000-meter run out of 15 to earn the team six points. He finished in 9:32.51. Junior Glenn Teubner earned the remaining three points for the Blue Jays with his sixth place finish in the mile run. He finished with a time of 4:48.14. 

Three runners competed in the 800-meter run. Junior Ryan Dyer finished first for the Blue Jays with a 2:09.31 time and 10th place finish. Teubner placed 11th with a time of 2:10.79, and freshman Kole Rackers rounded out the team with an 18th place finish and 2:14.07 time. 

Junior Brooklyn McCoy rounded out the Blue Jay track portion of the meet with a 27th place finish (27.77) in the 200-meter dash and a 29th place finish (8.91) in the 60-meter dash. 

Junior Sam Kroll-Taugasolo and sophomore Logan Shoemaker competed in the shot put. Kroll-Taugasolo placed ninth out of 39 with a 12.99-meter throw, and Shoemaker placed 10th with a 12.95-meter throw. 

The Blue Jays compete in the Prin Relays hosted by Principia College on Friday, January 29.
