The Westminster men's track and field team placed first in two events during Saturday's Central Methodist Invite, leading the Blue Jays to a tie for sixth place with 36 points.
Junior Bret Robertson placed first in the javelin throw with a 52.07-meter throw, earning 10 points for the team. Junior Glenn Teubner placed first on the track side with a 16:16.51 5000-meter run. Senior Jesse Edwards also ran the 5000-meter and placed third with a time of 16:34.85, earning six points.
Sophomore Addison Conway earned a combined seven points for the team. He placed fifth in the triple jump with a 11.68-meter jump and sixth in the 400-meter hurdles with a 1:00.51 time. He also completed in the 400-meter dash and took 12th (54.45).
Sophomore Logan Shoemaker earned the remaining three points for the Blue Jays with his sixth place finish in the shot put. He threw 13.04-meters.
Junior Ryan Dyer and freshman Kole Rackers each raced in the 800-meter run. Dyer placed ninth with a 2:03.13 time while Rackers finished in 2:10.82, placing 14th.
Senior Brooklyn McCoy rounded out the track portion in the 100-meter dash. He placed 21st with a 12:04 time.
The Blue Jays next compete in the Darrel Gourley Open hosted by William Jewell College on Saturday, April 16.
