Five Top Seven Finishes Lead Blue Jays to 10th Place at True Blue Twilight

The Westminster men's track and field team placed 10th out of 15 teams at the True Blue Twilight hosted by Illinois College on Friday, April 29. The Blue Jays placed within the top seven in five events, earning them a grand total of 27.5 points. 

Junior Bret Robertson placed first in the javelin throw, earning the team 10 points. His 52.79-meter throw outdid 23 other throwers. 

Sophomore Logan Shoemaker tied for third out of 23 in the shot put with his 13.96-meter throw, earning the team 5.5 points.

Sophomore Addison Conway earned five points for the team with his fourth place, 58.87 finish in the 400-meter hurdles.

Senior Jesse Edwards placed fifth out of 11 in the 5,000-meter run. His 15:54.61 race time earned the team four points. 

The Blue Jay 4x400-meter relay team earned the final three points for the Blue Jays with a 3:31.46, seventh place finish.

Juniors Ryan Dyer and Glenn Teubner ran the 800-meter run. Dyer placed 11th out of 29 with a time of 2:00.75. Teubner placed 22nd with a 2:09.72 time. Teubner also placed 10th in the 1,500-meter run, finishing in 4:14.03. 

The Blue Jays close out their season at the SLIAC Invitational on Saturday, May 7. The meet will be held in Greenville, Ill.
