Shoemaker and Dyer Re-Break Records at Missouri Collegiate Challenge

Sophomore Logan Shoemaker and junior Ryan Dyer each rebroke their records at Friday's Missouri Collegiate Challenege hosted by Mizzou. Shoemaker broke the shot put record and Dyer broke the 800-meter record at the previous indoor meet, but they continued to improve and rebroke the records Friday. The meet did not keep team scores.

Shoemaker finished seventh out of 16 throwers with a 13.48-meter throw. His record breaking throw was .21-meters more than the previous record. 

Dyer shaved .5 seconds off his previous 800-meter record, rebreaking it with a new time of 2:05.88. The time landed him in 12th place out of 19 runners. Freshman Kole Rackers also competed in the 800-meter, finishing in 16th with a 2:12.04 time.

Junior Glenn Teubner earned a first place finish in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:53.44. Senior Jesse Edwards finished just behind him in second place with a time of 17:02.81.

Junior Brooklyn McCoy rounded out the Blue Jay team at the meet with competitions in the 60-meter and 200-meter dash. He placed 23rd in each, finishing the 60-meter dash in 8.03 and the 200-meter dash in 27.23.

The Blue Jays close out the 2016 indoor season on Saturday, February 27 at the Prin Multis hosted by Principia College in Elsah, Illinois.
