Rackers Establishes Record at Prin Relays

Freshman Kole Rackers established the 500-meter run record at Saturday's Prin Relays hosted by Principia College. Four other Westminster men's track and field members competed at the meet.

Rackers wrote the 500-meter run into the record books with a 1:15.65 time as he crossed the finish line in 22nd. He also competed in the 300-meter run and placed 21st with a time of 41.78.

Junior Glenn Teubner finished two races in the top 10. He placed ninth in the mile run with a 4:51.21 time. He placed 10th in the 3000-meter run, finishing in 9:35.81. Senior Jesse Edwards also ran the 3000-meter run and placed 13th with a time of 9:44.51.

In field events, sophomore Logan Shoemaker and Travis Lee threw shot-put. Shoemaker placed 13th with a 11.37-meter throw, and Lee placed 23rd with an 8.44-meter throw.

The Westminster Blue Jays continue their indoor season at the Jim Green Invite hosted by Illinois College on Saturday, February 6.
