Fulton, Mo. - The Westminster College Blue Jay Baseball team kicks off their long awaited season this coming Saturday in Topeka, Ks. It will have been roughly 353 days since the Blue Jays last competed in the COVID-19 shortened 2019-20 season. Head Coach Zach Bishop and his team will take the field Saturday against Buena Vista University for the first two games of the season. On Sunday morning the Blue Jays will play Buena Vista in a JV game before finishing the Varsity series with a single nine inning game before returning home. All Westminster College home games will be livestreamed on our YouTube channel. This is a neutral location and as of print time are unsure if a livestream will be available. - The Blue Jays return 13 letter winners from last year's team including Josh Weaver, Parker Schnieders, Zach Teems, Skyler Dickneite, Jayme Bertish, Bryce McKinnon, Derek Shikles, Andrew Boessen, Hayden Hirschvogel, Tanner Nowatzki, Jacob Waeltermann, Hunter Hulholland and Mason Kirkweg.

One transfer is Steven Diaz and 22 freshmen including Chase Holder, Coltin Green, Payton Whitehead, Austin Mayton, Jason Reilly, Robby Manor, Sam Owen, Trent Morrow, Grant Higginbotham, Dawson Koch, Cameron Benny, Matt Trout, Justin Fields, Logan Thompson, Bode Gebbink, Connor Sherman, Kobe Allen, Jared Mistler, Ben Parks, Nathan Shepard and Dawson Schuemann.
- The Blue Jays Hirschvogel and Kirkweg were honored by the SLIAC as the were named to the 2021 SLIAC Watch List.
Taking a look at the Buena Vista University Beavers (0-0, 0-0 ARC):
- This will also be Buena Vista's first game of the season.
- The Beavers are picked to finish second in the American Rivers Conference Pre-season Poll.
- The Beavers bring back 14 players from last years team, seven position players and seven pitchers.
