Men's Tennis Begins Conference With Loss To Greenville

The Westminster men's tennis team began conference play with a 9-0 loss to Greenville on Wednesday, April 1. The Westminster Blue Jays are now 1-6 on the season and start conference 0-1. 

The Blue Jays went 0-3 in doubles play. The duo of senior Nate Connell and freshman Adam Fuchs lost 8-2 in the one spot, and junior Kyle Collins and sophomore Scott Strough lost 8-3. Senior Kody Renner and sophomore Grant Peterson were swept in the three spot, 8-0.

The singles scores are: 1) Wicland defeats Connell 6-3, 6-3; 2) Urshan defeats Fuchs 6-1, 6-4; 3) Power defeats Collins 7-5, 7-6 (7-3); 4) Bush defeats Strough 6-2, 5-7, 6-1; 5) Dowley defeats Renner 6-1, 6-3; 6) McDondold defeats Peterson 6-2, 6-0.

The Blue Jays are on the courts again on Thursday, April 9 as they host Missouri Valley at 4:00 p.m.
