Collins, Connell and Hasenmueller Earn SLIAC All-Conference Honors

St. Louis, Mo. - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) announced the 2015 Men's Tennis awards on Wednesday, April 29. Westminster's junior Kyle Collins earned a spot on the Honorable Mention All-Conference team in the #4 singles, and senior Nate Connell and freshman Peter Hasenmueller received Honorable Mention All-Conference honors in the #1 doubles spot. 

Collins, a junior from St. Louis, Mo., earned a spot on the Honorable Mention All-Conference team after finishing the season with an 8-6 singles play record. He alternated between the #3 and #4 singles positions, and he recorded a 2-2 record in the #4 singles spot. He won the final five matches of the season in the #1, #3 and #4 positions. 

Connell, a senior from Branson, Mo., and Hasenmueller, a freshman from St. Louis, Mo., recorded a 4-3 record as a pair and a 4-1 record in the #1 doubles spot. They won their final four matches in the #1 spot with three wins coming from the SLIAC Tournament. 

The SLIAC also recognizes one individual from each team, selected by his coach and teammates, who throughout the season best displays the ideals of sportsmanship. Westminster's senior Kody Renner selected to be placed on the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship Team. 

The Blue Jays went 5-9 on the season and landed in third place in the SLIAC. After three rounds in the SLIAC Tournament, the team took third place.
