PR's All Around For Blue Jays At The Gans Creek Classic

Columbia, MO, 10/1/21 – The Westminster College men's cross country team, under new head coach Tyler Yunk, Competed at the Gans Creek Classic hosted by the University of Missouri.  The Blue Jays, who do not have enough team members to qualify for a team score, competed in the open division.  The Blue Jays were the only NCAA Division III program at the meet. The three Jays that ran all set personal records for the 8K course.

Freshman Michael Giles (Herman, MO / Herman) recorded a time of 29:59.1 which was good for 68th place in a race full of NAIA and D2 competitors.  This was his PR for an 8K course.

Freshman Lane Martin (Lexington, MO / Lexington) recorded a personal best 8K time of 30:52.9 which was good for a 76th place finish in the race.

Sophomore Jacob Marshall (Columbia, Mo. / Hallsville) finished with a PR of 34:08.7 over the 8K course.  That time was good for an 85th place finish.

The Blue Jays will be back on the course next Friday October 8th when they travel to SLIAC rival Principia College to compete in the Cowbell Classic.
