Rock Island, IL, 11/7/21 – The Westminster College men's cross country team competed in the 2021 NCAA Division III Midwest Regionals on Saturday afternoon at the Saukee Golf Course in Rock Island, IL hosted by Augustana College. The Blue Jays, who do not have enough team members to qualify for a team score, competed in the open division. The three Jays that ran all set personal records for the 8K course.
Freshman Michael Giles (Herman, MO / Herman) recorded a time of 29:27.6 which was good for 171st place in the race. That was his PR for an 8K course.
Freshman Lane Martin (Lexington, MO / Lexington) recorded a personal best 8K time of 29:56.5 which was good for a 180th place finish in the race.
Sophomore Jacob Marshall (Columbia, Mo. / Hallsville) finished with a PR of 32:10.8 over the 8K course. That time was good for an 200th place finish.
The Blue Jays conclude their cross-country season and will now eagerly await the indoor track and field season.
