Decatur, IL, 10/16/21 – The Blue Jay volleyball team wrapped up their participation in the toughest tournament of their season taking on the hosts the Millikin University Big Blue.  The hosts were not very hospitable to the Blue Jays as the Big Blue prevailed in straight sets 3-0 (13-25, 14-25, 8-25). The loss dropped the Blue Jays record to 10-13 and they remain 6-1 in SLIAC play.  Millikin Improves to 16-7 and is 3-3 in the CCIW.

Eryka Wanyonyi (Columbia, MO / Hickman) led the Blue Jay attack with five kills.  Payton Bledsoe (Mexico, MO / Mexico) had 4 kills and hit a team high .100.  Gretchen Durbala (Burlington, IA / Burlington) recorded a team high 10 assists.  Durbala also led the Jays defense with a team high seven digs.

The Blue Jays will now return home to regroup and ready themselves for their biggest game of the season so far.  The Jays will welcome SLIAC leading Greenville University Panthers who handed the Blue Jays their only SLIAC defeat.  They trail the Panthers by just a game in the conference standings with only four games left to play.  The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. first serve in Historic Gym.
