Westminster Volleyball Tops Stephens in Four-Set Battle

10/17/24 Fulton, MO - The Westminster Blue Jays earned a 3-1 victory against Stephens College, improving to 13-13 overall. Westminster won the match with set scores of 25-23, 25-22, 13-25, and 25-21 in what was a hard-fought battle on both sides.

Leading the charge for the Blue Jays was Meghan Nolte, who had an impressive 11 kills on a .276 hitting percentage while also contributing two block assists. Katelynn Jackson added 10 kills and five digs, helping Westminster maintain pressure throughout the match. Kylie Hasselbacher continued her strong form with 11 kills in a .303 hitting percentage. Her efficiency at the net helped the Blue Jays establish an offensive rhythm early, especially in the first two sets. On the defensive side, libero Haylie Schnake got 16 digs, while Emma Behrmann was all over the court, contributing 12 digs alongside her team-leading 19 assists. Madisyn Ellis also chipped in with a solid all-around performance, notching 18 digs and 7 kills. Celissa Kennedy was another key player for Westminster, recording 6 kills and a stellar 6 block assists. Her presence on the net was a major factor in slowing down Stephens' offensive momentum.

The Blue Jays will now shift their focus back to the SLIAC competition as they head on the road to face Lyon College on Friday.
