10/6/24 Fulton, MO - Westminster College's football team struggled to find consistent momentum on Saturday, falling to Greenville 35-14 at home. The loss drops the Blue Jays to 1-3 on the season as they continue conference play.
Westminster started the game strong, with quarterback Ian Bock connecting with Ivan Marin on a 25-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter, giving the Blue Jays an early 7-0 lead. However, Greenville answered back, scoring twice in the second quarter to take a 14-7 lead into halftime. In the third quarter, Greenville extended their lead with a five-yard rushing touchdown by Max Lynch, but Westminster responded with a highlight play of their own—a 23-yard touchdown run from Marquis Williams that cut the deficit to 21-14. Greenville pulled away in the fourth quarter, adding two more rushing touchdowns, including a two-yard run by Lynch, to seal the 35-14 victory. Quarterback Ian Bock finished 14 of 19 for 122 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. Marquis Williams led the team in rushing with 23 yards and a touchdown, while Dante Billups and Trace Helsel each added 37 yards on the ground.
