Davidson Named SLIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

Fulton, Mo., March 30, 2021 - The Westminster College women's soccer team and goalkeeper Megan Davidson are off to a hot start. The Blue Jays stand at 3-1 on the season and are the winners of three straight. Davidson, who is coming off her second shutout of the season against Blackburn College, was recognized by the conference for her stellar play in goal as she was named SLIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Davidson, a freshman keeper, guided the Blue Jays to a pair of wins last week including a shutout victory over Blackburn. She allowed one goal, stopping six shots, in a 2-1 win over Greenville to start the week. Three days later she helped blank Blackurn, finishing the week with a .857 save percentage. 

Davidson and the Blue Jays will be back in action on Tuesday on the road. The Jays will take on the Illinois College Lady Blues in Jacksonville, Ill. in a non-conference match-up at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday night.  The link to the video of the game can be found HERE.
