Women's Soccer: Blue Jays Host Webster University On Senior Night Preview

Fulton, Mo., April 14, 2021 – The Westminster College Blue Jay women's soccer team will be in action tonight at home in a pivotal SLIAC showdown with the conference foe Webster University Gorloks.  Head Coach Wendy Sanchez and hes team will be looking to stay in second place in the conference standings before the SLIAC Tournament starts next week. This will be the Blue Jays final regular season home game of SLIAC play in the friendly confines of Blue Jay Field.  The game will mark Senior Night for 3 Blue Jays. Alaina Allsbury, Liz Hammond and Natalie Schulte will all be playing their last regular season home game.  They will be honored on the field before the game around 4:40 p.m.

Taking a look at the Westminster College Blue Jays (5-2, 4-2 SLIAC):

  • The Blue Jays are currently in 2nd place in the SLIAC.
  • The Blue Jays are coming off a 1-0 forfeit win over Eureka College on Monday.
  • Natalie Schulte leads the Blue Jays with 31 shots and 18 shots on goal.  Kelsey Gordon has taken 18 shots and put 16 on goal.
  • Schulte leads the Jays in goals scored with seven goals. Gordon has 4 goals and Lauren Halamicek with 3 goals.
  • The Blue Jays are led in assists by Rachel Nolte with three assists and Schulte with two.
  • Blue Jay Freshman Keeper Megan Davidson has had a great freshman season to this point. She is 5-2 with 4 Shutouts. She has given up just five goals this season. Her save percentage of .792 and goals against average of .71 are both good for second among SLIAC keepers.

Taking a look at the Webster University Gorloks (3-3, 3-3 SLIAC):

  • Webster is currently sitting in 4th place in the SLIAC.
  • The Gorloks are coming off of a 2-0 loss at Fontbonne University last Saturday.
  • Payton Williams leads the Gorloks in shots with 17 shots and 11 shots on goal. Jordan Land has 11 shots and put four shots on goal
  • The Gorloks are led in scoring by Williams who has four goals. Jordan Bilyeu, Lande, Jennifer Munger each have two  
  • The Gorloks are led in assists by Williams and by Bilyeu with four each.
  • Taryn Banfield leads the Gorloks in goal.  She is 3-2 in her five games in goal with one shutout. She has given up nine goals for 2.07 goals against average. She has made 12 saves and has a save percentage of .571.
