Njie Breaks Record At Snow Bird Open

The Westminster women's track and field team tied for 14th place at the Snow Bird Open hosted by Illinois College Saturday afternoon.

Senior Nyima Njie broke her previously held 200-meter record at the meet, finishing with a 28.15 time and a 12th place finish. Senior Tanisha Terrell and freshman Maria Rains also ran the 200-meter dash with Njie. Terrell placed 16th with a 28.46 time. Rains finished in 29.38 and placed 31st. 

Terrell and Rains also ran the 60-meter dash, placing 17th (8.44) and 22nd (8.62), respectively.

Junior Brier Skogsberg took a 5th place finish in the 3000-meter run, finishing in 11:42.57.

The Blue Jays travel to Elsah, Illinois on Friday, January 30, to compete in the Prin Relays.
