Fulton, Mo 9/21/2022- The Westminster men's soccer team looks to keep things rolling after collecting their first win of the season over the weekend. They would host the Fontbonne University Griffins in what was a very physical matchup with three yellow cards and twenty-six fouls between the two teams.

Geoffrey Schultz (St. Peters, MO / Fort Zumwalt South) got the Blue Jays on the scoreboard first after scoring a goal off an assist from Francois Moua (Owasso, Oklahoma / Owasso) to take the early 1-0 lead. Fontbonne would tie the game at 1-1 with three minutes left to go in the half. The Griffins would score again at the 82:45 mark and win 2-1. The Blue Jays fall to 1-6 on the season and 1-2 in the conference.

Toby Hughes (Jefferson City, MO / Jefferson City) got the start in goal for Westminster. He played the full ninety minutes and faced seven shots on goal and made five saves. The Blue Jay offense was led by Schultz who had the goal, Nolan Deane (Eureka, MO / Eureka) would have two shots on goal. Ari Lieberman (Chesterfield, MO / Parkway Central) had a header bounce off the left goal post that would have given the Blue Jays a 2-0 lead, but it was not to be. Moua would have a shot on goal to go along with the assist.

The Blue Jays will be back in action on Saturday, September 24th when they take on Webster University. That game is scheduled to kick off at 3:30 PM.
