Eureka, IL 9/16/2022- The Westminster men's soccer team hit the road on Friday to take on the Eureka College Red Devils. The Blue Jays would pick up their first win of the season in a 2-0 victory over the Red Devils to improve to 1-5 on the season and 1-1 in conference play.
Francois Moua ( Owasso, Oklahoma / Owasso) would score the first goal to give Westminster a 1-0 lead with about ten minutes to play in the first half. Then Adam Luetkemeyer (Wentzville, MO / Timberland) would find the back of the net to put the Blue Jays up 2-0 with thirteen minutes left in the game and that would be the final score and the Jays' first win of the 2022 campaign.
Westminster took sixteen shots on the night with four of them being on goal. The Blue Jay defense held tight all night limiting the Red Devil attack to seven shots total and goalkeeper Toby Hughes (Jefferson City, MO / Jefferson City) would turn away all four shots on goal that he faced.
The Blue Jays will be back in action on Wednesday, September 21st when they host Fontbonne University for a 7 PM kick-off at Blue Jay Field.
