Fulton, MO 10/26/2022- The Westminster men's soccer team played the Blackburn College Beavers to a 0-0 draw in the home finale on Wednesday night. Both teams would have chances to score but neither was able to find a goal. The Blue Jays had six shots on goal to the Beaver's three. With the tie, Westminster is now 3-10-4 on the season and 3-6-4 in the SLIAC. Blackburn is 4-9-5 on the season and 1-7-5 in the SLIAC.

Toby Hughes (Jefferson City, MO/Jefferson City) got the start in goal for the Blue Jays, and he made three saves and gets his fourth shutout of the season. He is 3-3-4 in goal for the Jays this year.

Westminster was the aggressor most of the night and had chances all game long but would get unlucky with shots hitting off the post or the Beavers goalie making some great saves. The Blue Jay attack would have seventeen shots total with six of them being on goal. On the flip side, the Beavers only took four shots in the game and had three shots on goal. The Jays would get eight corner kicks to the Beaver's three.

The Blue Jays will be back in action on Saturday, October 29th when they take on Fontbonne University. That game will kick off at 3:00 PM.
