Fulton, MO 10/1/2022- The Westminster men's soccer team took on the Spalding University Golden Eagles in the 2022 homecoming game. The two teams battled for ninety minutes to a 0-0 draw. It would be the Blue Jays' first tie of the season as they go to 1-8-1 on the season and 1-4-1 in the SLIAC.

Toby Hughes (Jefferson City, MO / Jefferson City) got the start in goal for the Blue Jays, and he turned away the four shots on goal he faced from the Golden Eagles. Spalding was held to six shots total in the game by the Blue Jay defense. This was Hughes's second clean sheet of the season.

The Blue Jay attack had five shots on goal and had a handful of them hit off the goalposts and could not find the back of the net.

The Blue Jays will be back in action on Wednesday, October 5^th when they take on the Blackburn College Beavers in Carlinville, IL. That game is set to kick off at 3:00 PM
