Webster Snaps Westminster Women's Winning Streak

FULTON, Mo. – The Westminster women's basketball team saw their four-game winning streak came to an end on Thursday night falling to the Webster Gorloks 73-52.

The Gorloks remain tied with Fontbonne atop the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference leaderboard with a 13-2 conference record. The Blue Jays fall to 9-6 in SLIAC play and 10-12 overall with tonight's loss.

The Gorloks opened the game with a 12-2 run that spanned over five-and-a-half minutes. Webster held the Blue Jays to just eight points in the first quarter while scoring 16. The Gorloks also outscored Westminster in the second quarter 22-12 to take a 38-20 lead into halftime.

Webster never looked back in the second half and defeated the Blue Jays 73-52 to remain tied for first place in the conference.

Mikalyn Callahan led all players with 10 rebounds and chipped in nine points. Kallee Dowler and Reese Arnold each scored 10 points to lead the Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays will play again on Saturday when they hit the road to take on Fontbonne at 1:00 PM.
