Westminster Basketball to Host Super Sam 'Be a Hero' Games on February 1st

FULTON, Mo. – The Westminster College basketball teams will be hosting "Be a Hero" games this weekend to benefit the Super Sam Foundation and raise awareness of childhood cancer.

The Super Sam Foundation is a Fulton-based pediatric cancer foundation with a mission focused on raising awareness, funding research, and supporting families in the fight.

To help support the Super Sam Foundation, we are asking for donations of gift cards, pillows, stuffed animals, and blankets at Saturday home games against Eureka College.

The donations collected at the games will help the Super Sam Foundation provide support for the families in the fight against cancer through Comfort Packs, Sibling Support, and Caregiver Packs.

A Super Sam Comfort Pack is a unique gift as it is for kids, from kids. It is unique to the difficulties of side effects with chemo. This pack has all three key components: a soft blanket, stuffed animal or pillow, and movie. Sibling Support and Caregiver Packs are full of items specific to each family member's unique fight. These often include a variety of gift cards for meals and gas.

The Blue Jays will also be wearing gold shoelaces during the game to raise awareness of pediatric cancer.
