Westminster Women's Basketball Defeated by Wilmington

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – In their final game of the 2019 calendar year, the Westminster women's basketball team suffered a 90-52 loss to Wilmington (Ohio) in the consolation game of the Charles B. Zimmerman Memorial Tournament.

With the loss, the Blue Jays drop to 3-7 on the season.

The Quakers established control of the game with a 32-point second quarter in which they held the Blue Jays to just seven points and forced 10 turnovers. Overall the Quakers scored 39 points off 28 Westminster turnovers.

In addition to winning the turnover battle, Wilmington shot 41.3% from the field while Westminster shot just 27%.

Abbie Reece led Westminster in scoring with 15 points while Reese Arnold chipped in 11 points from the bench. Makayla Jackson added seven points while grabbing a team0high nine rebounds.

The Blue Jays will return to action in the new year when they host SLIAC foe Principia on Saturday afternoon.
