Blue Jays Ranked Fourth In SLIAC Preseason Poll

Fulton, MO- The Westminster College women's soccer team was ranked fourth in the 2023 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) preseason coaches poll, the conference announced on Wednesday. 

The Blue Jays placed fourth in the coaches poll, earning 55 points and one first-place vote. Coach Courtney Howe's squad is back with 12 players from the 2022 campaign, six of whom were starters in the conference championship game last season. All-Conference midfielder Lauren Halamicek and All-Conference goalie, Megan Davidson, return for their senior season and look to lead the Blue Jays back to the conference championship. The SLIAC had the two of them on their Preseason Watch List. 

Joining them from last season are: Annalise Beck, Bella Carter, Skyler English, Savanah Feltrop Jenna Frisella, Kaitlyn Halamicek, Payton Heevner, Madi Lenk, Paige Sunneburg, and Mia Turner. Five freshmen also joined the squad and look to make an impact: Allie Auer, Kelsey Cochran, Rylee Hinton, Destynee Orf, and Madison Van Dyke

The Blue Jays open their season on the road where they will take on Hendrix College Labor Day weekend, September 2nd at 2:30 P.M.
