Blue Jay Fall To Webster 2-0

Webster Groves, Mo 9/30/2023- The Westminster College women's soccer team traveled to the St. Louis area to face off against Webster University in a Saturday afternoon SLIAC matchup- The Gorloks would score a goal in each half and win the game 2-0. They improved to 5-2-1 on the season and 2-0 in the SLIAC. The Blue Jays dropped to 3-5 and 1-1 in the SLIAC. 

Webster would strike early in the game, finding the back of the net in the 13th minute to go up 1-0. Skyler English tried to tie the game in the 26th minute as she put a shot on goal, but the Gorlok keeper would make the save. 

Lauren Halamicek would put a shot on goal in the second half in the 48th minute. The Webster's goalie also stopped her shot at the 48th minute. The Gorloks would score their second goal of the game in the 62nd minute to go up 2-0 and go on to win the game. 

Megan Davidson started in goal for the Blue Jays and made seven saves on nine shots. The Blue Jays would get four shots on goal but could not find the back of the net. 

The Blue Jays will be back in action on Friday, October 6th as they host SLIAC newcomer the Mississippi University for Women in their first trip to Fulton. The game will kick off at 7:30 p.m.
