Blue Jays Fall 2-0 To Storm In Final Non-Conference Game 

Fulton, Mo 9/18/2023- The Westminster College women's soccer team hosted the Simpson College Storm in their final non-conference game. The Storm would out-shoot the Blue Jays 22-7 and win the game 2-0 to improve to 6-1 on the season. The Blue Jays finished the non-conference schedule with a 2-4 record. 

Simpson would score in the 9th minute to take an early 1-0 lead. They would pressure the Blue Jays and goalie Megan Davidson for the entire game. Davidson would make 11 saves in the game. Westminster would get called for a penalty in the 63rd minute and they would capitalize on the penalty kick to increase their lead to 2-0. 

Lauren Halamicek would have a clean shot on goal in the 3rd minute but could not find the back of the net. After halftime, in the 46th minute, Kaitlyn Halamicek took a shot, but the Storm keeper turned it away. Lauren Halamicek would put another shot on goal in the 56th minute. The Blue Jays offense would take seven total shots in the game, with those three being the only ones on goal. Simpson would take twenty-two shots and put thirteen of them on goal. 

The Blue Jays will start their conference schedule by playing Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas on Friday, September 22. The game will kick off at 3:00 PM.
