Fulton, Mo 10/6/2023- The Westminster College women's soccer team was back in action at the Kent and Judith Mueller Stadium after being on the road the last two weeks. They would welcome in SLIAC newcomer, the Mississippi University for Women, to the friendly confines on Friday night. The game would come down to the wire as both teams were tied 0-0, entering the last minutes. Finally, the Blue Jays broke through when Rachel Nolte crossed the ball into the box, finding Faith Coates all alone in front of the net. This gave the Blue Jays a 1-0 win. Westminster improves to 4-5 on the season and 2-1 in the SLIAC. The Owls fell to 2-2 in the SLIAC and 3-5 overall.

The Blue Jays would create a lot of scoring chances but were just unable to find the back of the net. They would take fifteen shots in the game with ten of them being on goal. Defensively, the Blue Jays would hold the Owls to three shots total in the game and one shot on goal as MUW was down a player after a red card in the first half.

Blue Jay goalie Megan Davidson would get her third clean sheet of the season after stopping the one shot she faced.

The Blue Jays will be back on the road as they take on Greenville University on Wednesday, October 11th. Kick-off will take place at 7:30 pm.
