St. Louis, Mo 10/30/2023- The Westminster College volleyball team traveled to St. Louis, Missouri on Monday for their final road game of the regular season to take on the Fontbonne University Griffins. The Griffins would sweep the Blue Jays 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-21) to improve to 19-9 on the season and 13-3 in the SLIAC. They are currently second in the conference heading into the final week of the season. The Blue Jays fell to 16-12 on the year and 11-5 in the SLIAC. Westminster currently holds the fourth spot in the conference, with two conference games remaining on the schedule.

It would be an off night for the normally high-flying Blue Jay offense. No Blue Jay would record double-digit kills, which has been a rare occurrence this season. Malena Bixby led the Jays with six kills. Kylie Hasselbacher and Madisyn Ellis would both have five kills as the Blue Jays hit for a season-low .042. Kirsten Schrader had fourteen digs and Braylee Montgomery had fourteen assists from the setter position.

The Blue Jays will look to regroup as they head back to Fulton and host the Washington University-St. Louis on Wednesday. The game will take place at 7:00 p.m. inside the Historic Gym.
