Marshall and Woolsey Named SLIAC Players of the Week

Westminster's Hannah Marshall (volleyball) and Ellen Woolsey (women's soccer) were named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Players of the Week for their respective sports on September 28.

Hannah Marshall, a sophomore outside hitter from Wildwood, Mo., earned 17.5 points for the Blue Jays in Tuesday's 3-0 win over Eureka. She hit .500 on the three set match and put down 12 kills. She also added three service aces to the conference win. Marshall is currently leading the SLIAC in service aces per set with .55 and ranks second in kills per set with 3.33. 

Ellen Woolsey, a junior goalkeeper from Marshall, Mo., earned the 2-0 shutout victory over Fontbonne on Saturday as she stopped eight shots on goal. This is her third shutout win of the season. She currently sits atop the SLIAC in the goals-against average category with an average of just 1.22 goals against. 

The volleyball team continues their conference play on Tuesday, September 29, at Fontbonne University. The women's soccer team plays their second conference game on Saturday, October 3, at Iowa Wesleyan University.
