Blue Jays Voted Fifth in 2021 SLIAC Men's Soccer Coaches Poll

Fulton, Mo.—The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has released its 2021 Men's Soccer Preseason Poll and the Blue Jays collected 40 points and one first place vote in the poll, which was good for a predicted fifth place finish. Iowa Wesleyan University was tabbed the clear pre-season favorites garnering six first place votes and 67 poll points.  Spalding University finished with 48 points picked second. Greenville University was selected third by the coaches and received one first place vote with their 46 poll points. Webster University received 44 points and the last of the first place votes to finish just ahead of the Blue Jays in fourth.  Principia was selected in sixth place with 37 points. Fontbonne University followed with 19 points to finish seventh.  Blackburn College in eighth and Eureka College in ninth with 15 points and eight points respectively rounded out the poll.

Along with the team recognition, two Blue Jays found themselves recognized as players to watch this season. Seniors Justin Gerdiman and Sam Heckart were all named to the 2021 SLIAC Preseason Watch List.

Head Coach Adam Galla and his Blue Jays will kick off their long awaited season on Saturday, March 13th in St. Louis at Fontbonne University. The kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.  The entire Men's soccer schedule can be found HERE.
