Panthers Slip Past Blue Jays 1-0

Fulton, MO, 9/19/21 – The Westminster College women's soccer team opened up SLIAC play at home against the Greenville University Panthers on Saturday night in Fulton. The first half saw the teams go scoreless as both teams put up a combined ten shots. The Blue Jays unfortunately gave up a goal as Greenville scored in the 52nd minute. That goal was the difference as the Blue Jays would fall 1-0 in their SLIAC opener.

Westminster was outshot 15-5 overall and 10-2 in shots on goal. Both teams each had 2 corner kicks. Westminster committed eight fouls against Greenville's four.

Sophomore forward Rachel Nolte (Wentzville, MO / Holt) and freshman midfielder Savannah Feltrop (Jefferson City, MO / Helias) each had one shot on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Megan Davidson (St. Louis, MO / Affton) played all 90 minutes facing ten shots and making nine saves.

Westminster College women's soccer battled against Greenville University but will have to fight for their first win on the road against Fontbonne University on Tuesday September 21st, 2021. The conference game is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. kickoff at Centene Stadium.
