Westminster Falls Short Against MUW

12/05/2024 Fulton, MO- Westminster College's men's basketball team faced a challenging matchup on December 6, 2024, as they fell 62-47 to MUW at home. Despite a competitive first half, where the Blue Jays were narrowly behind 28-27, they struggled offensively in the second half, allowing MUW to outscore them 35-19.

Luke Abeln was the standout performer for Westminster, finishing with 12 points and 10 rebounds. His all-around effort was one of the bright spots for the Blue Jays, but they struggled with shooting consistency, finishing the game with just 28.6% from the field and 20.0% from three-point range. Rowdy Gohring contributed 7 points off the bench, while Kolton Garner added 12 points, including three three-pointers.

Despite strong individual performances, Westminster's shooting struggles were evident, as they had difficulty finding a rhythm in the second half. Their defense was solid, but the inability to convert offensively limited their opportunities to close the gap. The team also struggled with turnovers, finishing with 18 for the game.

The Blue Jays will look to build on their rebounding and defensive efforts in their upcoming games, while focusing on improving their shooting accuracy and decision-making in the offensive end.
