The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) announced the players of the week for the week of March 23-29, and Westminster's softball pitcher Alyson Hahn was selected as the SLIAC Softball Pitcher of the Week. This week marks the third time Hahn has grabbed the weekly award this season.
Hahn, a sophomore from O'Fallon, Mo., made two appearances on the rubber last week, going 1-0 with a 0.55 earned-run average. She picked up the win in game one over Eureka, going seven innings and allowing no runs and just four hits while striking out five. In game two she entered in relief, stopping the Red Devil attack, and going 5 2/3 innings while allowing one run and striking out five. On the week Hahn threw a total of 12 2/3 innings and allowed just eight hits and one run while striking out 10 and walking just two.
The Westminster Blue Jays went 1-3 last week with the lone win coming from Eureka.
The team is back on the field on Tuesday, March 31, with a home doubleheader versus Illinois College at 5 and 7 p.m.
