Thompson Named SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week

ST. LOUIS – Westminster sophomore guard Ethan Thompson (Columbia, Mo. / Hallsville) has been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for men's basketball.

Thompson tied a school record with 10 three-pointers in Saturday's win over Eureka. The sophomore shot 71.4 percent (10-14) from behind the arc and finished the game with 35 points. In addition to his 35 points Thompson also recorded five rebounds.

The 10 three-pointers by Thompson ties the Westminster single game record held by Tim Therof and Herbie Dill. Therof went 10-10 from three-point range on Nov. 22, 1988, against Rhodes and Dill went 10-14 from three against Parks on Dec. 6, 1994.

The Blue Jays will not play again until 2020 when they host Principia on Jan. 4th.
