Fulton, Mo. - The Westminster College Blue Jay Softball team is back in action this weekend as they head down to Memphis, Tn. to take on the Rhodes College Lynx in a weekend four game series. Head Coach Sara Stafford and her team will take the field at Rhodes College for a double header on both Friday March 5th and Saturday March 6th.

Taking a look at the Westminster College Blue Jays (1-3, 0-0 SLIAC):
- The Blue Jays were picked to finish second in the 2021 SLIAC Pre-season Softball Coaches Poll. The Jays received two first place votes.
- The Blue Jays come into the second week of the season having played Rhodes last weekend in Mississippi once, a close 6-4 loss to the Lynx.
- The Blue Jays are led at the plate by senior Brooke Laidley who is hitting .375 with three doubles and two RBI's. Junior Mackenzie Meyers is hitting .308 with a grand slam that accounts for her four RBI's
- Junior Laney Rosson leads the team in on base percentage at .467 by virtue of going 2-10 with a team leading five walks drawn.
- Freshman Emily Esquivel and Rosson also lead the team in steals with two thefts each.
- The Blue Jays are led on the mound by senior Katie Price (1-1) with a 4.80 ERA she has ten strikeouts while allowing seven walks.
Taking a look at the Rhodes College Lynx (5-3, 0-0 SCAC):
- Lauren King leads the Lynx hitters with a .586 batting average with four doubles, two home runs and nine RBI's. Abby Pons is hitting .500. Marisa Moore is batting .480 with four doubles and eight RBI's, while Katelyn Siekerka is batting .375 with five doubles a triple and nine RBI's.
- King leads the team in on base percentage at .594 followed by Pons at .550 and Moore at .536
- Samantha Feinstein leads the Lynx in stolen bases with six steals in six attempts followed by Hanna Grace Roden with 5 steals in 5 attempts.
- Madison Stringfield leads the Lynx on the mound where in five appearances and four starts she is (2-2) with a 3.20 ERA.
- The Lynx have used four different starting pitchers in their eight games this year.
