Katie Price and the Blue Jays softball team went on the road this past weekend and took three out of four games from a very good Rhodes College team. The wins helped the team get back to .500 at 4-4. Today the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recognized Price as their Pitcher of the Week for her efforts in those games.
Price, a senior, went 2-0 on the week with a 3.27 earned-run average in two starts for the Blue Jays. She picked up the victory in a 6-1 game against Rhodes, throwing a complete game while allowing just one run and five hits while striking out four. She notched her second win of the week in the series closing game against Rhodes, working 8 innings and striking out one.
The Westminster College Blue Jays softball team will be back in action on Wednesday when they welcome the Washington University Bears to Fulton for the home opener for the Blue Jays. The games are set for 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. first pitches.
