Beck Lifts Blue Jays To Win On Homecoming

Fulton, MO 10/1/2022- The Westminster College women's soccer team took the Spalding University Golden Eagles in this year's homecoming game. The Blue Jays would excite the crowd scoring three goals in the game and defeating the Golden Eagles. Westminster improves to 4-3-2 on the season and 3-1-2 in conference play.

Payton Montana (Barnhart, MO / Seckman) scored the Blue Jays' first goal in the 23rd minute after a great assist from Annalise Beck (St. Louis, MO / Notre Dame High School). Beck would then score a goal of her own in the 26th minute to put the Blue Jays up 2-0. Scoring the Blue Jays' final goal was Hannah Shylanski (O'Fallon, MO / Fort Zumwalt North)  in the 87th minute to put them up 3-0.

Blue Jay goalkeeper Megan Davidson (St. Louis, MO / Affton High School) made two saves on the only two shots on goal she faced. She would get her third clean sheet of the season.

Westminster outshot Spalding, 17-5 with the Blue Jays having seven shots on goal.

The Blue Jays will be back in action on Wednesday, October 5th when they travel to Blackburn College to take the Beavers. That game is set to kick off at 1:00 PM
