Fulton, MO 11/1/2022- The Westminster College women's soccer team earned the fifth seed in the SLIAC Women's Soccer Tournament, giving them the right to host the fourth-seeded Spalding University Golden Eagles in a quarter-final matchup on Tuesday night.

The Blue Jays would score a goal in the seventeenth minute of the game off the foot of Lauren Halamicek (St. Louis, MO / Oakville High School) to go up 1-0. The Blue Jays would hold that lead for the rest of the game and go on to win, advancing to the semi-finals of the SLIAC tournament on Thursday. Halamicek's goal was her fourth goal of the season. The Blue Jays would have five shots on goal overall and eight total in the game. Halamicek had another shot hit off the top crossbar. Both of her shots were well outside the twenty-yard mark. Hannah Shylanski (O'Fallon, MO / Fort Zumwalt North) also had two shots on goal but was turned away by the Golden Eagles keeper.
