Women's Tennis
Women's tennis took third place at the SLIAC Tournament after defeating Greenville in the third place match, 5-1. In the opening round, the Blue Jays defeated Fontbonne, 5-0. In the second round, they fell to Principia, 5-0. Earlier in the week, the Blue Jays closed out their regular season with a 7-2 loss to Stephens College.
The Blue Jays ended the 2016 season with a 6-8 record.
Softball
The Blue Jays went 4-0 on the week with sweeps over Blackburn and Principia, extending their winning streak to six games and securing a spot in the SLIAC Tournament! Three of the four wins were five-inning wins and multiple records fell in the process. Junior Erica Burney broke the season home run record and tied the career record in Tuesday's doubleheader win. On Thursday, the game one win broke the conference wins record for Westminster and became the program's 300th win. Burney broke the season hits record in the game one win, and sophomore Amber Tepen tied the season runs record in game two.
What's next? Softball is heading to the SLIAC Tournament! The Blue Jays final seed is undetermined, but they will enter the tournament in either the no. 3 or no. 4 spot. The tournament begins on Thursday in Elsah, Ill. (Principia College). The time is determinate on the seed we enter the tournament as.
Baseball
The Blue Jays went 3-2 on the week with a split versus Blackburn and a 2-1 series with Iowa Wesleyan. The Blue Jays won game one versus Blackburn, 21-6, and sophomore Adam Mundle tied the season triples record. The triple broke the season RBI team record. They dropped game two, 8-4. On Saturday the Blue Jays began their three-game division series with Iowa Wesleyan. They dominated the Tigers in game one in just seven innings, 23-2. Senior Collin Brinker broke the season innings pitched record on the mound. On Sunday, they closed out the series with a doubleheader. The Blue Jays won game one, 13-1. They held a 6-4 lead heading into the ninth inning of game two, but Iowa Wesleyan tied the game in the ninth and won the game 8-6 in the 10th inning.
What's next? Baseball is scheduled to close out their regular season with a doubleheader versus Spalding. The date and time are TBD.
Men's Track & Field
Men's track and field placed within the top seven in five events, earning them a 10th place finish out of 15 teams at the True Blue Twilight hosted by Illinois College on Friday.
What's next? The Blue Jays close out their season at the SLIAC Invitational on Saturday, in Greenville, Ill.
Women's Track & Field
The women's track and field team placed 15th at Illinois College's True Blue Twilight. Sophomore Taylor Howard earned the team eight points.

Westminster Athletes of the Week
Shannon Perrigo (softball) and Bret Robertson (men's track & field) are this week's Westminster Athletes of the Week.
Shannon Perrigo, a senior from Tebbetts, Mo., pitched two complete game wins on the mound and held a 1.40 ERA. She allowed just two runs while striking out nine. At the plate, she batted .700 on the week with a 1.00 slugging percentage and a .727 on base percentage. She had seven hits with a home run and seven RBI.
Bret Robertson, a junior from California, Mo., won the men's javelin throw at Saturday's True Blue Twilight. The first place, 52.79-meter throw beat out 22 other competitors and earned the team 10 points.
