Tyler Branneky Named SLIAC/Diamond Sports Baseball Hitter of the Week

The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) announced the Players of the Week for March 16, and Westminster's junior Tyler Branneky was named the SLIAC/Diamond Sports Baseball Hitter of the Week.

Branneky, a junior from St. Louis, Missouri, helped the Blue Jays open the SLIAC season with a three game sweep of Eureka. Branneky hit .615 on the week with one home run and five runs batted in. He finished the week with nine runs scored and a .706 on-base percentage with a remarkable 1.154 slugging percentage. Branneky recorded three multi-hit games and the only game in which he did not record a hit, he still managed to walk twice and score three runs. Branneky had two three hit games on the week and tied the Westminster program record for career triples.

The Blue Jays went 3-1 on the week with their only loss coming from Nebraska Wesleyan.

The baseball team will see the field again on Friday, March 20, with a conference doubleheader at Blackburn College at noon.
