A Look at Westminster
Westminster opened up SLIAC play over the weekend by splitting a pair of matches. The Blue Jays topped Iowa Wesleyan 3-1 but fell to Greenville 3-0 in the weekend's closing match. On the year the Blue Jays are hitting .153 as a team and average 10.27 kills per set. Defensively the Blue Jays are near the top in fewest reception errors while also ranking third in service aces per set.

Sophomore Hannah Marshall leads a balanced attack at 2.81 kills per set. Another four Blue Jays average at least 1.65 kills per set. Junior Amanda Kiso, a Second Team All-Conference performer last year, is averaging 1.96 kills and 0.73 blocks per set. Senior Lexi Collier, a two time First-Team All-Conference performer, is averaging 1.84 kills while hitting .333 this season with 0.53 blocks per set. The offense is run by junior Kayla Reeg, a Second Team All-Conference player in 2014, with 8.04 assists per set.

A Look at Principia
Principia is on a two match winning streak after winning their first SLIAC matches of the season, topping Spalding and Blackburn in identical 3-1 victories. The Panthers are hitting .165 as a team this season, averaging 8.89 kills per set. Defensively the Panthers are a quick team, leading the conference with 17.32 digs per set.

Principia has relied on freshman Sophia Hathaway to fill numerous roles for the team. Hathaway leads the team in kills (82) and is second in assists (75), digs (72), and total blocks (10). Sierra Sprague, a senior,  is second on the team in kills (1.71 per set) and tops in digs, averaging 4.75 per set. Freshman middle blocker Emily Tippetts ranks third on the team with 1.45 kills per set and leads the team with 12 total blocks.
