Westminster's Lexi Collier (volleyball) and Tanner Touslee (men's soccer) were selected as the SLIAC Defensive Players of the Week for their respective sports on November 2.
Lexi Collier, a senior middle hitter from Weston, Mo., is the SLIAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week after a strong performance at the net. She finished with 18 total blocks last week in addition to her .372 hitting percentage with 56 kills in five matches. Collier helped her team pick up a key win over Webster and followed with seven blocks against Dubuque. She then added three more blocks against Coe and Augustana and four blocks against North Park. Collier currently ranks fourth in the league in blocks per set this season.
Tanner Touslee, a sophomore midfielder from Olathe, Kan., anchored a Blue Jay defense that recorded a pair of shutouts against two of the top teams in the conference. Touslee and the Blue Jays blanked tournament bound Greenville, with Touslee adding two assists in the win. They followed with a 3-0 shutout win over Spalding, who just missed the tournament; adding another assist. On the week, Touslee had three assists and helped extend the Blue Jays shutout streak to six games.
