Blue Jays Fall to Hanover, 3-1

The Westminster volleyball team fell to Hanover College on Friday, 3-1. The loss is just one of seven on the season, bringing the Westminster Blue Jays to 17-7 overall. 

Hanover won the first set, 25-19, but the Blue Jays tied up the match with a set two 25-14 win. Hanover won the third set, 25-19. The two teams battled it out until the end of the fourth set, but Hanover pulled out the 26-24 set win to take the match.

Freshman Nikki Testerman led the Blue Jay attack with 15 kills while junior setter Kayla Reeg set the pace with 39 assists. Sophomore Hannah Marshall finished the match with 14 kills while senior Lexi Collier added 10. Reeg led the team with 16 digs while freshman libero Bridget Ringwald recorded 14. Ringwald and freshman Micha Frasher each recorded three service aces in the loss. Collier had three block assists at the net, and Reeg had two.

The Blue Jays play two matches on Saturday in Louisville, Ky., including the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Game of the Week against Spalding University. The two play at 11:00 am EST on Saturday, followed by a non-conference game versus Transylvania at 1:00 EST. Both games can be watched here
