Blue Jays Finish 3 Game Series Vs MUW With 11-3 Loss

Columbus, MS 2/26/23- The Westminster College softball team was back on the ball field on Sunday as they competed in the third game of the series against Mississippi University for Women. They would end up losing 11-3 in game 3.

The Blue Jays looked to take a game away from The Owls by starting Payton Dudenhoffer(Jefferson City, Mo/ Helias Catholic). Dudenhoffer ended up pitching 3 innings, facing 20 batters and striking out 3 of them. The Owls started strong like they did in the first two games by putting up 11 runs in the first 3 innings. In today's matchup, the Blue Jay's bats were alive by getting 8 hits. 7 different  Blue Jays got a hit in the game. Sophomore Raigan Mckee(Oologah, Ok/ Oologah), Mckee ended the game with 2 RBIs and went 1-2. Junior Emily Esquivel (San Diego, Ca/ Eastlake). Freshman Madison Scott(Oklahoma City, Ok/ SFS Pathaways Middle College) went 1-1 on the day. Sophomore Catcher Raegen Dickinson(Ozark, Mo/ Ozark) went 1-3 and has started a 2-game hitting streak. Junior Maddie Marrero(Columbia, Mo/ Rock Bridge) ended up going 1-2 on the day as well. Sophomore Haylee Chandler (Bowling Green, Mo/ Bowling Green) went 2-2 on the day. Freshman Felicity Kirby(Camdenton, Mo/ Camdenton) got her first Collegiate RbI off of a fielder's choice to the third basemen to score Freshman Kennedy Grimsley (Bowling Green, Mo/ Bowling Green)

The Blue Jays will be back in action next week in Batesville, Arkansas. With two games against Lyon College. They will only have a doubleheader on Saturday, March 4th with the first game starting at 12:00 PM.
