Blue Jays Lost The Series Against The Gorloks

St. Louis, Mo 4/26/2023 - The Westminster Blue Jays traveled up to St.Louis today to face Webster University Gorloks. The Blue Jays would end up losing both games. Game 1 20-1 and Game 2 12-4.

Game 1- Webster University: Box Score

The Blue Jays coming off the win against Greenville at home looked to keep the momentum up against the Gorloks. The starting pitcher for the Blue Jays was Caroline Bently (Bakersfield, Mo/ Bakersfield). In relief for Bently, Payton Dudenhoeffer (Jefferson City, Mo/ Helias Catholic), and Madison Scott (Oklahoma City, OK/ SFS Pathaways Middle College). All the pitchers gave up 20 hits, 5 walks, and 2 strikeouts awarded to Scott.

Offensively the Blue Jays got 5 hits and 1 run. Haylee Chandler (Bowling Green, Mo/ Bowling Green), Emily Esquivel (San Diego, Ca/ Eastlake), Reagan Dickinson (Ozark, Mo/ Ozark), and Kelsey Logan (Fulton, Mo/ South Callaway) led the Blue Jays offensively. Chandler went 2-2 with an RBI. Esquivel went 1-2 with a double. Dickinson went 1-2 with a double and Logan went 1-2 as well.

Game 2 - Webster University: Box Score

Haley Miller (O'Fallon, Mo/ Liberty) got the start for game two. Miller coming off a tremendous series against the Greenville Panthers looks to keep it going. Miller pitched 5.2 innings giving up 16 hits and striking out 4 batters.

Offensively the Blue Jays did better in game 2. Esquivel, Raigan McKee (Oologah, OK/ Oologah), Dickinson, Chandler, Eva Gannon (Wentzville, Mo/ Holt), and Logan got a hit. Esquivel went 2-3 with an RBI and scored 2 runs. Mckee went 2-2 with a double to get an RBI and a run. Dickinson, Chandler, Gannon, and Logan all went 1-3 with a base hit.

The Blue Jays look to bounce back this weekend against Greenville Panthers away. The first game starts at 1 and the next game follows.
