12/8/24 Fulton, MO – The Westminster College Blue Jays women's basketball team continued their strong conference play, securing a decisive 96-50 victory over Lyon College on Saturday afternoon. The win improved the Blue Jays to 2-1 in conference play and 4-4 overall, as they demonstrated their offensive firepower and defensive prowess.
Westminster set the tone early with a dominant first quarter, outscoring Lyon 28-9. The Blue Jays' aggressive defense and efficient shooting helped them maintain control throughout the game. They capped off the performance with a 25-point fourth quarter, showcasing their depth and determination.
Annette Ramirez delivered an outstanding performance, leading all scorers with 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting, including five three-pointers. She also contributed eight rebounds, eight assists, and a steal, solidifying her role as the team's leader on both ends of the court. Avylina Powell-Qualo earned a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, anchoring the Blue Jays in the paint. Lauren Jones added 14 points, including two three-pointers, and grabbed four rebounds. Caragan Lockard also recorded a double-double, scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds.
