3/1/25 Fulton, MO – The Westminster Blue Jays' season came to an end Friday night as they fell to Principia, 63-45, in the SLIAC Tournament semifinals. Despite a strong defensive effort in the first half, the Blue Jays struggled offensively down the stretch, allowing Principia to pull away in the final quarter.

Westminster and Principia were tied at 14 after the opening quarter, but the Blue Jays locked down defensively in the second, holding Principia to just three points. Westminster took a 24-17 lead into halftime, but offensive struggles plagued them in the second half. Principia came alive in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Blue Jays 29-9 to secure the win and end Westminster's postseason run.

Annette Ramirez led the team with 15 points, four rebounds, and three assists, finishing her remarkable career as the program's all-time leading scorer. Caragan Lockard contributed 11 points and four rebounds, while Avylina Powell-Qualo added nine points and seven rebounds. Olivia Hixson, in her final game as a Blue Jay, recorded six points, six rebounds, and two assists.

Despite the disappointing end, Westminster's season was filled with historic moments and achievements, including a co-championship in the SLIAC regular season and Ramirez surpassing the 2,000-career point milestone. The Blue Jays will look to build on their success next season while celebrating the contributions of seniors Annette Ramirez and Olivia Hixson, who leave behind a lasting impact on the program. Thank you, seniors, and congratulations to the Blue Jays on a great season!
