2/23/25 Fulton, MO – It was a day to remember at Westminster as the Blue Jays celebrated Senior Day with a thrilling 79-72 victory over Eureka, securing a share of the SLIAC regular-season championship and the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament. The win also ensured that Westminster will host the tournament, setting the stage for an exciting postseason run.

The afternoon was highlighted by the recognition of two seniors, Annette Ramirez and Olivia Hixson, both of whom have been instrumental to the program's success. Ramirez made history yet again, surpassing the 2,000-point mark for her career during the second quarter, further solidifying her legacy as one of the greatest players in Westminster history.

Ramirez led all scorers with 24 points, adding eight rebounds, four steals, and three assists in her final regular-season home game. Hixson contributed 11 points, four steals, and three assists, leading the Blue Jays to victory.

The game was a back-and-forth battle from the start, with Westminster holding a narrow 18-16 lead after the first quarter. Eureka responded with a strong second quarter, outscoring the Blue Jays 30-27 to take a slim halftime lead. However, Westminster's defense tightened in the second half, holding Eureka to just 26 points combined in the final two quarters.

In addition to the senior performances, Avylina Powell-Qualo played a crucial role in the paint, tallying 14 points and eight rebounds, while Caragan Lockard controlled the glass with nine rebounds and 10 points. Aly Bullock added a solid all-around effort with 10 points, four rebounds, and two steals.

With the win, Westminster finishes the regular season as co-champions of the SLIAC and will now turn their attention to the conference tournament, where they will host as the top seed. The Blue Jays will look to defend their home court and capture the tournament title, with their first game set to tip off on February 27.
