Westminster Cruises Past Fontbonne in an 87-53 Victory

1/16/25 Fulton, MO - The Westminster Blue Jays women's basketball team delivered another stellar performance, securing an 87-53 victory over Fontbonne in an away game on Wednesday night. The win marks another step forward for the Blue Jays, who continue to impress as the season progresses. 

After a close first quarter, where Westminster held a slim 14-12 lead, the Blue Jays turned up the heat in the second and third quarters. They outscored Fontbonne 25-7 in the second and 28-13 in the third, building a lead heading into the final period. 

Annette Ramirez led all scorers with 17 points, shooting 7-for-12 from the field, including two three-pointers. She also added seven rebounds and three steals. Olivia Hixson filled the stat sheet with 13 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and three steals. Aly Bullock contributed 11 points, five rebounds, and a block, showcasing her versatility on both ends of the floor. The Blue Jays held control throughout the game, with key contributions from Gizelle Carreto, who grabbed eight rebounds to go along with four points. 

With the win, Westminster improves to 9-5 (6-1 in conference play). The Blue Jays now shift their focus to their next matchup, a home game against Spalding University this Saturday at 1 p.m. The Blue Jays will look to build on their momentum and continue their strong push in conference play.
